But now, it’s time for us to ahead and get excited some of the big console games that are expected to come on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.

Detroit Become Human

Quantic Dream is set to make their debut on the PlayStation 4 console with Detroit: Become Human, sometime in 2018. The David Cage-led studio is known for pushing the graphical limits of the PlayStation hardware and Detroit: Become Human looks to follow that tradition.

As is with Quantic Dream games, you’ll be controlling a number of characters, such the Android Kara that was featured in many previews. Detroit: Become Human will also feature branching storylines which will definitely warrant multiple playthroughs.

Shenmue 3

When Yu Suzuki announced the Kickstarter for Shenmue 3, it sent fans into a craze that led to the project collecting $2 million in just under eight hours on its Kickstarter campaign. This made it one of the fastest campaign to have reached the $2 million mark under twenty-four hours.

Despite suffering a few development setbacks, Shenmue 3 looks to be on track to making a release on consoles in 2018. Here’s hoping we’ll get more details on the game soon.

Darksiders 3

When THQ went under a few years, many were afraid that the next iteration of the Darksiders series would never see the light of day. After the surprise re-release of Darksiders 2 on current-gen consoles with the Deathinitive Edition, fans were hopeful for a full-fledged sequel.

Fans finally got their wish when Darksiders 3 was officially announced this year by THQ Nordic with Gunfire Games targeting for a 2018 release.

Code Vein

Touted as a anime stylized Dark Souls, Code Vein aims to incorporate the addictive gameplay mechanics of the Souls series by From Software and infuse it with anime-inspired style and designs and a bunch of vampires.

Code Vein stands out from the rest of the Dark Souls clones out there with its distinct sense of style while still retaining that hardcore gameplay mechanics that fans of Souls series love.

Biomutant was one of the biggest surprises this year when it was announced during Gamescom 2017. Developed by ex-Avalanche Studios employees, Biomutant seems to be the result of making an open-world game and using Rocket Raccoon as the main character.

The game is essentially an open-world action game with elements of platforming, character customization, and branching story paths. Based on what we’ve seen so far, Biomutant looks to be another exciting title to look forward to in 2018
